The Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit is the only specialised unit in the North Island and one of only two specialised units in New Zealand. We provide inpatient rehabilitation to people with newly acquired spinal cord injuries. This regional service is provided by a large multidisciplinary team. ensuring a consistently high quality of care is received.
We are looking for a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team. HCAs are our Registered/Enrolled Nurses (RN/EN) right hand people. You will be required to work under the direction and delegation of a RN/EN to provide assistance to patients who have sustained some degree of paralysis. HCAs will assist with day-to-day tasks of caring for our patients. This is a unique opportunity for you to contribute to our vision of delivering quality patient care. Together, we teach, encourage, motivate and support patients to gain strength and confidence to maximise their potential and prepare them for discharge home. This is a very rewarding role, establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and their family/whanau over longer period of time.

Essential:
Health Care Assistant level 4 certificate
Minimum 1 year experience as a Health Care Assistant
Good communication and customer service skills
Good command of verbal and written English
