Permanent casual positions working across a range of shifts and wards
Assist nursing staff to provide patient-centred care in a supportive environment
Opportunities for career development
About the role
We are looking for people who have a mature outlook and the ability to get on with a wide variety of people. As a Health Care Assistant you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one to one patient watches, and other tasks as directed.
It is important that you have the flexibility to work both rostered and rotating shifts, including night duty, as needed. As these are casual positions you could expect ad hoc shifts (covering leave and illness), with some forward planning and scheduling available covering planned leave.
As this is an 'open until filled' vacancy, applications will be reviewed regularly and progressed as the casual resource pool requires additional staff.
About you
You will need to be caring and compassionate with the desire to provide quality, patient-centred care. You will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, be honest and reliable, and use appropriate initiative. Good communication is essential, along with the ability to develop your skills and knowledge.
Experience within the health sector is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
Required qualifications include:
Essential
Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
NZQA Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)*
Desirable
Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent)
Mandatory Requirement
