Location: Community Health Kenepuru, based on Kenepuru hospital campus
Contract: Rostered morning and afternoon shifts, part time 20 hours per week, x5, 4 hour shifts per week.
Salary: $46,605 to $48,003 pro rata to hours worked
ABOUT THE ROLE
Community Health Service Kenepuru (district nursing service) has a Health Care Assistant position available. The shifts are four, 5 hour shifts, mainly morning shift from 8.00am to 13.00pm, evening shifts are from 17.00pm to 10.00pm, Monday to Sunday, as per rostered shifts.
Community Health Services provides assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and support services to individuals and families in their homes. We offer an orientation programme and on-going education for our Health Care Assistant's.
The Health Care Assistant's provide assistance with activities of daily living such as personal care and household tasks for clients who are temporarily incapacitated through illness or surgery in the community. A close relationship is maintained with the professional nursing staff (district nurses) working in the area for on-going assessment and advice in delivery of personal care.
You are required to have:
Completed level 3 NZQA qualifications in Community Support Services (or its equivalent).
Current driver's licence and reliable transport, as you use own car to visit patients
Good keyboard skills
Good communication skills

DUTIES
The Home Help Service assists people living on their own with personal care and household management tasks. The service aims to assist the early discharge of clients from hospital and to help clients to remain in their own home. The service provides short-term assistance with household management for clients who are recuperating from surgery or an acute illness.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Completed level 3 NZQA qualifications in Community Support Services (or its equivalent).
Current driver's licence and reliable transport
Good keyboard skills
Good communication skills
