Our Environmental Protection team is part of the Regulatory and Compliance group, and are responsible for providing high quality monitoring advice and responsive regulatory services! The Environmental Services group has been working towards a focus of supporting sustainable use and the development of resources through the delivery of our city's building developments, environments and activities.
To assist us in providing a safe and vibrant city, we are looking for an exceptional Health and Licensing Technician to join our team. A challenging and diverse role, reporting to the Team Leader: Environmental Health and Licensing, you will be responsible for liquor licensing, bylaw and health administration. This includes the processing of license applications, monthly activity reporting, and processing of invoices. To succeed in this, you will need to be able to build strong relationships with external agencies, customers and staff.
For this role, you will have:
Experience working with Liquor Licensing and Health Licensing systems and modules
A good working knowledge of the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
Experience in registering Food Control Plans and a knowledge of the Food Act 2014
Experience working with DLCs (District Licensing Committees) and arranging DLC hearings
Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to multitask
Ability to build relationships, communicate well and provide sound advice to customers
Customer-centric approach
Current Full Drivers Licence.
An administrative based certificate or equivalent qualification, and previous experience working in a Local Government compliance role, would be advantageous.
