Job Title:Head of Rentals & RetailPosition Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Rentals & Retail Department lead to oversee all aspects of our Rentals and Retail operations.
This role involves managing the maintenance of rental equipment, collaborating with other departments, ensuring exceptional guest service, leading staff, and managing departmental budgets.Key Responsibilities:Oversee rental equipment and clothing maintenance schedules, ensuring readiness for peak seasons.Collaborate with Guest Services and Hospitality teams to align resources and promote products.Monitor stock levels, manage product orders, and assist in developing Turoa Brand merchandise.Provide leadership, coaching, and training to a diverse team, ensuring high service standards.Manage staff rosters and performance, ensuring compliance with operational procedures.Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement.Ensure adherence to safety standards and participate in safety and health initiatives.Manage departmental budgets and expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities.Qualifications and Skills:Previous experience in Retail (essential), and Rentals (preferred).Strong knowledge of stock control and operational procedures.Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.Sound commercial acumen, with experience in ski area operations preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Passion for skiing, snowboarding, and mountain environments.Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts during peak seasons.Additional Requirements:Valid New Zealand driver's license preferred.Strong commitment to guest service and operational excellence
