We are currently recruiting a Head of Procurement to lead our National Procurement function, based at our Sydney CBD Home Office. The purpose of this role is to develop and implement procurement strategy and policy, to co-ordinate procurement practices and maximise savings and benefits available to the group from purchasing activities. The successful candidate will effectively manage the integrity of procurement related processes and act as the central point of contact for both internal and external clients & stakeholders.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, your key responsibilities will be:
Effective management of tendering, evaluation, placement and monitoring of a portfolio of corporate contracts
Management of procurement practices with regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and costing
Effective leadership of the procurement team through ongoing positive performance/professional development
Ongoing improvement and implementation of procurement policies & procedures
The ability to strategise to create solutions to optimise building operation and maintenance costs, without effecting business levels or service standards
Management of procurement budget, ensuring expenditure is within business expectations
Monitor third party support services expenditure against budget and reporting on variances
Ensure the procurement team members understand Opal values along with Procurement policies/practices and model professional behaviours accordingly
The successful candidate will hold:
3-5 years experience in a similar role managing high performing teams
Preferred relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, purchasing, business, supply chain, logistics etc
Excellent people leadership and development capabilities
Excellent procurement, tendering and commercial evaluation experience
Proven negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
