About the role:
With the company's continued growth comes the need for an experienced Head of Production to oversee their current production teams and provide support and direction as the business continues to grow. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Head of Production will manage the day to day leadership of the production teams on their Napier & Christchurch sites – including people, policies, programs and initiatives – to always ensure regulatory compliance to our GMP licence.

Experience required:
As this is a critical hire for the business, we are seeking someone who fits the following key criteria:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science or Technology, or similarPrevious experience in pharmaceutical compounding manufacturingExperienced in working in a fast-paced and agile environment while maintaining the correct levels of regulatory complianceProduction leadership experience in a cGMP/pharmaceutical environment, preferably within a sterile manufacturingProven team management and mentoring experienceHighly developed communication and organisational skillsAbility to continually evaluate the needs of the business and improve the production team accordinglyProven ability to deliver results within tight deadlinesYour technical and industry knowledge are critical for this role but so are your soft skills across communication, relationship management, mentoring and the drive to do better. You'll also be part of the company leadership team and provide a united support to the whole operations team.

As a suitable candidate you will need at least 5 years pharmaceutical compounding experience, and another 5 years at a management level and have proven experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Ideally your experience will have been within a sterile compounding or manufacturing facility, working to regulatory standards relevant to the New Zealand health sector such as those outlined by Medsafe or similar.
