School Sites - 3 in Christchurch, 1 in Wellington and 10 in AucklandWe are looking for an experienced school leader who can lead our team within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Educational Environment.
You will have current experience leading large teams of teachers, ideally across multiple sites and nationwide.
We provide classroom teaching to 120 students in 14 provisions.
Our students range in age from 5 – 21.
The school employs 36 FTE teaching staff with Teacher Aides, Educational Interpreters, NZ Sign Language Tutors and is supported by Ko Taku Reo's strong Corporate, Communications and IT services.This role provides a great opportunity to bring your school leadership skills to focus within specialist education, bringing new and progressive ideas that will assist us become an internationally leading Deaf Education provider.
This position sits as part of the Ko Taku Reo nationwide Senior Leadership Team.
Your work will intersect with our wider student cohort (3000 students), as well as staff development and pedagogical initiatives.Interviews will be skills and experience focused and you will need to bring two data driven pieces of work that you have led, which demonstrate your ability to lead a creative and successful educational improvement agenda for your students.
A commitment to New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) is essential.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already on their NZSL journey and are able to confidently converse in NZSL.Only applicants who are legally entitled to work in New Zealand will be considered for this position.
