Head Chef

At Brooklyn we believe that good food should be shared and are passionate about creating a communal dining experience. Our menu is made up of share plates, allowing customers to order multiple dishes off the menu and enjoy the experience of tasting different flavours and cuisines.
Brooklyn is made up of an upstairs restaurant with views over the Tauranga harbour, and a warm downstairs bar that leads out into a courtyard on The Strand.

We are currently seeking a Head Chef to join our team

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Seasonal menu writing complete with costings
Write rosters and ensure budgets are met
Complete ordering and manage food cost within budget
Manage Food Handling procedures
Ensure efficient communication lines between kitchen and service are well maintained
Ability to lead a team

To be successful for this role you will have:

3-4 years’ previous experience in a similar role
Excellent cooking skills and ability to efficiently run a busy kitchen
Ability to train and develop key staff
Able to work nights and weekends
Great communication skills and fluent in English
