Off The Beaten PathSurrounded by some of New Zealand's most iconic scenery. Fiordland National Park Lodge situated at Te Anau Downs, is looking for a Head Chef for the coming season.The position is full-time fixed-term, mid-October 2019 to May 2020, working a flexible schedule over a 7-day roster. Nestled on Lake Te Anau our location is the perfect environment to enjoy nature, peace, and quiet, at your day end or on your rostered days off work.The Head Chef main responsibilites include:· Creating wholesome and mouth watering menus using fresh produce.· Presenting eye catching and delicious cabinet food everyday.· Controlling food and labour costs.· Achieving all safety, hygiene and food quality targets and upholding our Food Control Plan.· Enthusiastically training kitchen staff and leading by example.· Creating and implementing an operating environment that ensures a healthy staff culture.To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:· A positive personality.· Passion for presenting creative and quality food consistently.· Proven recent experience cooking in a similar accommodation facility. References are required.· Menu planning and costing.· The ability to work autonomously, prioritise and plan your own workload.· The ability to train staff.· Show enthusiasm and have excellent communication skills enabling clear and effective communication with management and staff in all departments.· Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures with strong computer skills.Our team is small, and we are passionate about hospitality.
