Premium innovative fresh meal delivery business seeks a talented, engaged head chef. This is a unique opportunity within our tight-knit team for an experienced and passionate chef to join us in producing best quality fresh, seasonal daily meals, cabinet food & catering.
We’re a small team, no room for preciousness or egos. No one individual is more important than another; we do what it takes to get the job done.
Hard-working with a great sense of humour, you will collaborate on menu planning, lead the cooking, & train up junior team members.
Menu consulting across all arms of the business will be required. You will have min 10 years’ experience in a commercial cooking environment with strong knowledge of kitchen processes in order to create efficiencies.
The successful candidate will need to be/have:
• A proven passionate Sous or Head Chef
Enthusiastic, creative & driven
• Competent & confident using Excel
• Passionate about quality, food & fresh flavours
• A minimum of 10 years’ cooking experience
• Ensure food quality and consistency to agreed company & food compliance standards
• Exacting standards of kitchen cleanliness
• A passion for, and experience in, cooking and creating healthy food
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and demonstrate good judgement
• Ability to adapt to spikes in business levels and be reactive at short notice.
• Responsible for all ordering & maintaining close supplier relationships.
• Excellent organisational skills – ability to forward plan
• Experience in expenditure control & achieve budgetary objectives
• Experience in staff supervision, leadership and training
• Great communication skills, well organised with excellent time management skills
• An ability to self-manage with an exceptional work ethic
• Have a good understanding of ethnic cuisines
• Passion for creating menus with seasonal produce
• Attention to detail
• An honest, reliable, hard-working, forward thinking, team player
