With the recent move of the former Group Financial Controller into the role of Group Commercial Manager, we are now looking for a talented professional to step into these shoes. Are you ready?
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborating as part of the Group Finance Team, the Group Financial Controller takes overall accountability for ensuring the integrity of the financial result for the group. To facilitate this, the Group Financial Controller will:
Lead a diverse and experienced team of finance professionals; ensuring performance targets are understood, capability is nurtured and success is achieved;
Drive a culture of continuous process improvement around financial controls and core financial processes, ensuring process worth, efficiency and reliability;
Own the data captured in the ERP system; guaranteeing data integrity and value;
Work closely with key financial stakeholders including within the shareholder groups;
Contribute and collaborate as a high performing member of the group finance team; supporting overall planning and execution of initiatives.
This role needs a technical expert who will take accountability for delivery excellence and results. Is this you?
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be a highly experienced and skilled Chartered Accountant and you will currently be operating at a senior level. Your background is likely to be within external audit where you would have been exposed to large and complex commercial organisations and you would have developed your career either within one of the global professional services firms or commercial organisations of scale – ideally within New Zealand and internationally. Technical expertise in core financial, audit or taxation disciplines are a must.
Collaborative in style, you will understand the value in working closely with your colleagues to provide a comprehensive financial and commercial result to the business and you will enjoy stepping in and then out of the detail to consider matters of strategic importance.
