Grounds person/Cleaner AND Front Office Receptionist/Park Activities SupervisorHoliday Park – TWO-PERSON TEAM REQUIRED An exciting opportunity exists at our park located on Lake Taupo, between the townships of Taupo and Turangi. Our ideal candidates are not afraid of hard work, are reliable and capable of maintaining the park’s high level of presentation and customer service. The successful team of twos’ main roles will be a split between: 1. mixture of general grounds/handyman duties and cleaning of park buildings. They should, however, be comfortable with working in any area of the property to assist the team when needed.2. our reception area, followed by assisting with in-park activities, however, they should be comfortable with working in any area of the property to assist the team when needed. Grounds Hours: This is a seasonal role starting in Mid-October 2019 and ending around Mid-February 2020. It would be expected that there would be an average of 25-30 hours per week offered during this time. Whether or not there will be any hours offered after Mid-February, will be decided closer to the time, depending on occupancy and the applicant’s availability. Please note that there could be more hours available, at certain times during peak, if wanted. Reception Hours: This is a seasonal role starting in Mid-October 2019 and ending around Mid-February 2020. Hours will vary depending on the occupancy of the park. It would be expected that there would be an average of 25 hours per week offered between Mid-October and Mid-December, with this increasing to approximately 40-45 hours per week between Mid-December to Mid-January. From Mid-January until Mid-February hours will go back to an average of 25 hours per week. Whether or not there will be any hours offered after this time, will be decided closer to the time, depending on occupancy and applicant’s availability. Grounds Person/Cleaner Role:Common Duties – may include, but are not limited to: · General grounds maintenance, renovation and repairs· Mowing, weed eating and landscaping· Cleaning of park amenities blocks, rec room, kitchens, BBQs and laundries· Collection and disposal of rubbish, including sorting of recycling· Identification and management of risks and hazards· Reporting of incidents and near misses Other Duties – may be required to help in these areas from time to time as a backup: · Cleaning of park accommodation – cabins and units· Responsible for safety briefing of guests in use of kayaks· Assisting in basic shop sales Front Office Reception/Park Activities Supervisor Role:Common Duties – may include, but are not limited to: Reception: · Taking reservations in advance via phone, email and live chat· Taking walk-in reservations as well as checking in and checking out guests· Dealing with customer enquiries about the local area· Selling kayaks, tours and TOP 10 club memberships· Resolving customer complaints· Nightly reconciliation/banking· Cash handling and credit card/EFTPOS transactions· Managing debtors and annual site holder accounts Shop: · Shop/kiosk sales including rolling of icecreams and making milkshakes· Ordering, unpacking and pricing of stock· Stocktake· Cleaning of shop/office and front entrance area Activities: · The preparation and organisation of varying activities suitable for kids, families and adults. Other Duties – may be required to help in these areas from time to time as a backup: · Cleaning of park accommodation – cabins and units· Responsible for safety briefing of guests in use of kayaks· Cleaning of park amenities blocks, rec room, kitchens, BBQs and laundries· Other odd jobs around the grounds including rubbish collection Skills and Experience required by both positions: · Attention to detail· Good organisation skills· Desire to work with the managers/owners to achieve success· Understanding of WHS responsibilities or willingness to learn· Effective problem solving· Ability to work in a team environment or autonomously· A focus on providing excellent customer service Additional Skills and Experience required by Reception position: · Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn our reservation system quickly and thoroughly· Good sales skills· Proven strength in all methods of communication· Flexible attitude to work and hours· Enjoy working with all different types of people including children Additional Skills and Experience required by Grounds person position: · Demonstrate general maintenance and handyman abilities· A trade certificate would be highly desirable but is not essential· Flexible attitude to work and hours To apply for this job, you must: · Have the right to work in NZ – NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa· Hold a current manual drivers’ license· Be able to pass a drug test and police vetting report· Be flexible with days worked and prepared to work varying hours. Hours & days will vary, you will be placed on a roster system.
