An exciting opportunity has arisen for a charismatic and experienced Grocery Manager to join our Management team at PAK’nSAVE Hasting and manage our dynamic and hardworking grocery team (day fill, night fill, and trolley teams).
You will be an inspirational leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a proven ability to drive team performance. This role will report to Assistant Store Manager and see you working closely with the Buyers, Storeroom Manager as well as the Chilled and Frozen Manager to ensure meeting the business requirements as one team.
Duties include but not limited to the following:
Leading and developing your team to achieve the set business objectives
Ensure sales and GP targets for the department are met or exceeded and that wage costs are controlled appropriately. Monitor sales and create opportunities to increase on last year. Maintain 100% price integrity in the department.
Control all Department Costs. Manage credits in a timely and tidy fashion to minimize waste and reduce loss.
Ensure all operational delivery standards are met or exceeded including shop is full and appealing throughout the hours of trade, and that stock levels are controlled appropriately
Managing the layout of the department to maximize stock visibility to enhance sales potential
Ensure all team members receive an appropriate induction / orientation to the department and receive appropriate ongoing training support
Ensure all staff management practices within the department comply with store policies on employment, attendance, health and safety, training, leave, discipline etc., such that all staff in the department know they are being treated consistently.
Ensure adherence to health and safety and food safety policies to the store’s standards and metrics
To succeed in this role you will need:
Minimum 7 years of management experience in grocery department
Solid working knowledge of GP and financial acumen
Experience in business planning, budgeting and working to KPIs
Strong interpersonal and coaching skills
Excellent change management skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft office suite and SAP
