Grocery 2Ic (Assistant Manager)

We're looking for a passionate Foodie to join us at PAK'nSAVE Westgate in this leadership role within our Grocery Department.
The role
As our Grocery 2IC you'll be joining the high performing team at PAK'nSAVE Westgate in this key leadership role. Our Grocery Department is the stores only 24 hour operation with a number of teams working throughout the day - Morning Fill, Evening Fill, Trolley Recovery, Night Shift (Forklift Operator) and Storeroom/Inwards. There are 60 team members working within the Grocery Department including assistants, managers and supervisors. To execute the best possible shopping experience for our customers it is crucial that this team works well - that's where you come in!
Core responsibilities will include:
Support the leadership and development of a large sized team, creating future leaders for the business.
Ensure that wage costs are controlled appropriately.
Ensure stock rotation and availability is maintained, where out of stocks occur ensure these are followed up and the impact minimised.
Ensure operational delivery standards are met or exceeded.
Contribute to recruitment decisions and analysis of department needs.
Ensure compliance with our Food Control Plan.
Proactively engage with Health & Safety throughout the department.
Completion of team training, performance reviews and meetings.
We are a 24 hour operation, flexibility with hours from a candidate will be highly regarded. Working at least one weekend day is required.

About you
With a focus on 'Thinking Customer', success in this role will also require;
Retail experience as a manager in an environment with many moving parts.
Forklift experience - reach and counterbalance.
Computer literate and SAP experience.
Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Able to confidently lead and motivate a diverse team.
