Graphic Design & Digital Print ProductionMcDowall Print Invercargill New Zealand is a medium-sized family-run print production company, supplying printing across New Zealand since 1984.
We are the experts in fast, high-quality digital printing, offset printing, and labels on roll.This is a full-time position with an immediate start.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm, with a half-hour lunch break.We offer a competitive hourly rate, weekly pay, and on-site free parking.Your main duties would include:Recreating or tidying up existing artwork to meet client needs and creating digital mock-ups for pre-print approval.Checking high-resolution PDFs supplied by customers and approving first prints to ensure they are correct before production continues.Graphic design work, adhering to brand guidelines and established look and feel.Operating digital printing machines, including sending files, laying up, and printing on a Fuji Revoria digital press and other digital machines.Assisting with other tasks during quieter periods, including finishing and general center duties.Reporting to the production manager.Having a positive attitude towards learning new skills and being open to ongoing training on new technology.The Right Candidate Must Have:Experience as a Mac Operator and be a well-rounded Graphic Designer, proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and the full Adobe suite.Experience in digital print, including operating digital machinery and knowledge of printing processes and materials, particularly Fuji copiers.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong time management abilities.
Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines, showing initiative and the ability to work unsupervised.Strong design and layout skills with an eye for detail and creative conceptual abilities.A genuine enjoyment of working with hands, machines, and technology.Computer literacy and knowledge of scheduling and basic office software, with excellent knowledge of Creative Suite and the ability to learn quickly.A great team player attitude, being reliable, hardworking, trustworthy, and ready to take the job seriously.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.Your application will include the following questions:How many years of graphic design experience do you have?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?Which of the following Adobe products are you experienced with?What's your expected annual base salary?Do you have a current New Zealand driver's licence?Do you own or have regular access to a car?How many years' experience do you have as a Mac Operator?
