Graduate Transport Engineer

Are you looking to kick-start your civil engineering career?
Our Transport Engineering and Operations team are looking for a Graduate Transport Engineer to join us, supporting the planning and development of the transport network in Wellington City - including traffic management, and walking/cycling, safety and parking improvements.
In this role you'll be focusing on delivering our Minor Works Programme, as well as providing engineering/technical advice and assisting with customer enquiries and providing support to ensure the smooth delivery of projects.
Wellington City Council is a large organisation with a lot of transport assets under its control - so this is a great opportunity to learn from a great team and develop your career.
We're looking for someone who has recently graduated (or is graduating very soon) with a tertiary engineering qualification - eg BE (Civil), NZDE(Civil) or similar.
You'll be up to play with the relevant NZ legislation (for example Resource Management Act, Road User rules etc) and also bring knowledge in:
Transport Engineering/transport planning
Best practice engineering standards and processes
Working knowledge of traffic management
You'll have great communication skills (and be able to build effective relationships quickly) - and be keen to learn.
A full, current NZ Drivers Licence is a must.
