ABOUT THE ROLES
The Medical Department at Hauora Tairawhiti is looking for two suitably qualified Consultant Physicians to join our team - the department consists of six Physicians with sub-speciality interests and two Consultant Cardiologists. We currently have one full-time permanent position available and the other is to cover a period of six months while some of our team members are on leave.
We are looking for physicians who have a wide knowledge base and experience within General Medicine including outpatient's medical service and acute medical intaking roster for unselected medical admissions. Hauora Tairawhiti is keen to hear from Physicians who want to develop or further a sub specialty interest. We currently have the following sub-specialties the department would like to develop (however any sub-specialty would be considered should it meet the service needs):
Care of the Elderly
Stroke Medicine
Nephrology
Diabetes/Endocrinology
You should be passionate about providing an efficient and effective service for the Tairawhiti community and be able to provide clinical support for the multi-disciplinary team while working in conjunction with surgical, anesthetics, nursing allied and cultural team members to deliver good quality outcomes for patients. You will be expected to participate in all professional and quality assurance activities required by the Medical Department as well as a 1 in 6 on call roster.
The medicine department at Hauora Tairawhiti is growing with plans to increase to a full roster of registrars with both basic and advanced trainees. We look forward to improve our access to care and excellent service delivery across Tairawhiti.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Registered in Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
Sub speciality in Care of the Elderly, Stroke Medicine, Nephrology and Diabetes/Endocrinology - but not limited too and all subspecialties will be considered
Have a current New Zealand driver's license or ability to obtain
