General Orchard Worker

Stephen Rolls Contracting is a horticultural contracting business based in Gisborne, on the East Coast of the North Island. We contract staff on various different orchards around the Poverty Bay area.
We have at least 20 positions available for General Orchard Worker. Start date will be between 14 and 18 January 2019.
Jobs included: Kiwifruit Thinning, Mandarin Thinning, Kiwi/Persimmon Tree training,
Apple Tree Training and Irrigation Work, Maize – Sweetcorn Detasseling.

Previous experience would be an advantage, however training will be provided.
Successful applicants will need to be honest, hardworking and reliable; physically fit and healthy and willing to be hands on and be able to work as a team or independently unsupervised.
Own reliable transport would be good but not absolutely necessary.
Prepared to stay in Gisborne for at least 4 to 5 weeks, and there be a possibility of further work for the right people. Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
Starting rate will be $16.50 plus 8% holiday pay with the potential to earn bonus rate depending on work performance and reliability. The job will be an average 30 - 50 hours a week, Monday-Saturday, weather and crop permitting.
