About The Role
We are seeking an experienced leader to serve as our next General Manager for Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability (MHAID).
Reporting to the Group Director of Operations, this role oversees a team of multidisciplinary leaders, service managers, and specialists across our diverse region.
This position offers a tangible opportunity to influence health service design and delivery significantly.
About the Team/Service/Location
Health New Zealand - Southern covers the largest geographical area among New Zealand regions, serving 350,000 people in varied communities.

About You
You will be a credible, senior leader committed to elevating capability and performance in mental health services, focusing on positive patient and whanau outcomes and staff wellbeing.
Your leadership style will be positive, with sound judgment and decision-making, leading by example and collaborating closely with stakeholders and colleagues in service development.
To qualify, you must:
Demonstrate high levels of strategic and operational leadership.
Be recognized as a resilient and visionary leader.
Have a proven track record in programme and change management, including quality improvement.
Know how to lead dispersed teams effectively.
Possess drive for performance excellence with measurable results.
Have strong financial skills, including building business cases and managing large budgets.
Be an effective relationship builder with a solutions-oriented approach.
Substantial experience in mental health is preferred, but strong relevant experience will also be considered.
