We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and driven lawyer to lead the in-house Legal team as our clients General Counsel. This fast-paced role will be responsible for facilitating exceptional legal advice and service to the organisation, as well as managing and developing the legal team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer to make a role their own and to lead this social, passionate and high-performing team.
As the General Counsel, you will support the business in the following areas:
Provide accurate and timely advice on all legal, regulatory and compliance matters
In consultation with executive team members, develop and implement the legal and compliance strategy for the business
Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial arrangements
Proactively manage external stakeholders, including various government, regulatory authorities and external legal providers
Manage and support the development of the legal team

As the successful candidate you will bring an exceptional eye for detail and an ability to think both critically and creatively. You will thrive in a collaborative team environment and be driven to actively engage with stakeholders to find creative solutions. In addition, you will also possess the following:
Previous experience as an in-house legal counsel
Broad commercial experience, with an exposure to intellectual property, competition and consumer law will be highly advantageous
Understanding of the complexities of operating within a highly regulated industry
Although not essential previous litigation experience will be highly regarded
