Verizon Connect is looking for a front-end/full stack developer who is passionate about bringing designs to life for our prospects visiting one of our 14 global sites. You will be working in a highly talented and driven team who are pushing the edge for what’s possible online in our industry. Responsibilities associated with the position include:
Taking a static page mock up and delivering high-quality markups that are faithful to the original design and provide a professional-level user experience.
Creating modern, professional email templates that render correctly across all common email clients.
Codifying common style elements from multiple pages into a reusable style framework.
Writing JavaScript to implement the behavior of rich interface components.
Adapting a design to make it responsive for display on mobile devices.
Addressing browser compatibility and performance issues in order to ensure a consistent experience across different clients.
Integrating new markup and styles into an existing codebase without causing any breakages or conflicts.
Ensuring pages are marked up with appropriate structured data (e.g., breadcrumbs) so that they show up as rich snippets in search engine results.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Commercial experience creating web pages using modern web standards (HTML5 and CSS3).
Experience writing JavaScript to implement advanced behaviors for interface elements.
Experience in JavaScript to the point where you don’t need to rely on libraries to accomplish innovative and complex interactions.
Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing and QA.
Experience creating email templates compatible with all common clients.
Even better if you have:
A degree.
Experience using a static-site generator with a templating engine (e.g., ERB) and CSS preprocessor to build a website.
Experience with building marketing websites tailored towards lead generation.
Experience in Ruby / Ruby on Rails.
Knowledge in oriented programming, automated software testing, databases, development and testing methodologies.
