An exciting opportunity has arisen at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor and this is a new position that has been especially created to support the Food and Beverage outlets in both an administrative and operational role.

The Food & Beverage Coordinator supports & assists the Restaurant & Bar Manager, Senior Restaurant staff and the Executive Chef in both an administrative and operational role for all Food & Beverage outlets. This includes Whitby’s Restaurant & Bar, Sojourn Café & Bar, Private Dinning/Conference Room, Room Service to 269 Guest Rooms, and the Harbour Lounge.
The primary tasks, duties & responsibilities for this role is to manage the restaurant bookings for breakfast, lunch, high tea, and dinner received through various communication channels for groups in the food and beverage outlets.
Other administrative tasks, duties and responsibilities include but not limited to are:
Monitor the food and beverage outlet emails and respond to enquiries within the 24-hour time frame.
Provide assistance to the Food & Beverage team with the preparation of special events, and also provide assistance on the event day.
Create invoices for any medium to large bookings i.e. in the restaurant or private dining room.
To conduct guest familiarisations and "meet and greets" as required for food & beverage areas.
Ensure that prompt & appropriate action is taken in relation to any complaints associated with food & beverage.
Assist the Restaurant & Bar Manager to generate information or put together any reports for meetings.
Liaise closely with the hotel reservations team, Conference & Events Administration team, and the Sales & Marketing Executive
Create floor/seating plans and menus for private functions (including Buffet/Table d’hôtel (TDH)).
This role also completes the tasks and duties of a Food & Beverage Attendant in the food and beverage outlets.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with:
Previous experience in a Food & Beverage role is preferred, ideally in a hotel
Effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A positive can-do attitude with customer service at the heart of what you do.
This is a full time role comprising of 5 days from Monday to Saturday with hours ranging between 7.00am and 7.30pm.
