ABOUT US

The Wishbone brand delivers a premium range of tasty and nutritious meals and food products for the health conscious and discerning. We offer many products that are nutritionally balanced and meet the dietary requirements of all our customers with a strong focus on continuous improvement. All our products are manufactured at our purpose-built plant just out of Wellington CBD and then distributed to a national network of 20 company owned Wishbone retail outlets and to various supermarkets and other wholesale clients throughout NZ.
We are a growing business and are currently searching for a dedicated professional to join us as a Food Safety Systems Officer. Based in our Wellington recently built production facility at the bottom of Ngauranga Gorge, you will work closely with the General Manager, our external FS Consultant and our compliance team as we strive to consistently achieve excellence in Food Safety.

IS THIS YOU?

You will possess a relevant tertiary education, and this is a prerequisite for the job so that you can competently fulfil the technical aspects required. Former work experience in a similar role would be beneficial including a HACCP qualification, but this is not a prerequisite however as we are open minded about applicants, knowing that it's more around attitude and fit within our organisation that counts most as full training is provided. This means that we will consider all applicants, whether you are a fresh graduate or a seasoned food safety veteran.
You will be consultative, professional in your approach and not afraid of extremely high expectations. Diligence, an eye for detail and impeccable communications skills are a must.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

It doesn’t get much better than a role where you can drive continuous process improvement and apply best practice in business! We are a Kiwi success story; who doesn’t want to work for an exciting brand that is going places? Our products have a positive impact on the lives of our customers; our team members are proud of that, and that’s why they want to work for us.
In return for your dedication, we will reward you with a role that will be impactful and rewarding. For those who excel within our growing company, there are many career advancement opportunities.
We are flexible around remuneration also. We can’t state a starting salary given we are open to considering all applicants, whether very experienced or not. What we can state is that we will reward the right person with a remuneration package that they will be happy with.

THE POSITION

The Food Safety Systems role involves the following:
- Overseeing and managing the food safety compliance calendar

- Overseeing the staff training around food safety
- Arranging verification, monitoring and laboratory testing
- Managing our customer quality comments and continuous improvements
- Managing our Food Works Label database and Bill of Materials

THE PERSON

You must be a motivated self-starter in this job as it’s a fast-paced dynamic environment. You will be surrounded by other successful people who are committed to the core values of the Company and driven towards its goals.

• Outstanding communication skills.
• Knowledge of process and compliance.
• Knowledge of FSANZ food code or willingness to learn
