Flower Trader

NZ’s largest flower trading company, United Flower Growers are looking to add to their dynamic Wellington sales team with a charismatic, professional, proactive flower trader/salesperson

Based at Grenada North, Tawa Wellington, within our busy flower wholesale department, you will be tasked with front line engagement with existing long-standing customers, particularly our auction-buying retailers. You will also assist with sales prospecting, building new relationships using telemarketing, other electronic media as well as good old-fashioned front-line customer interaction.

You will have a solid understanding of the sales processes including front line engagement; relationship building (both internal and external); margin control and effective account management (would be an advantage), and be able to present a high level of personal and customer service.

You will enjoy working in a fast paced environment; have self-confidence and be an excellent communicator.
Product knowledge is not essential as full training will be given however experience as a florist or flower industry associated activities would of course be an advantage.
Regardless of your background, attention to detail, passion to succeed and capability in being front line facing are most important.

Due to the dynamics of the flower market-place, flower trading requires early starts and this will require work start times on auction days at around 4.00am, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, finishing around 2:00pm on each of those days. Tuesday and Thursday to be discussed. This is a full-time permanent role.
