COMPANY: Vailima Orchard LISTED: Monday 7th October 2019 LOCATION: Tasman / Nelson TYPE: Fixed Term Vailima Orchard is a successful, 4th generation family owned business. With over 200Ha’s of Apple Orchards stretching over the Waimea Plains in Hope. We are currently seeking hard-working positive people to work on our Orchard. This is a fixed term role working Monday – Friday as well as being available for some Saturday work. Flexibility is required around this to align your work hours with work requirements if needed. The job is to remove apple flowers from our young apple trees. This allows the tree to puts its energy into growing bigger and stronger rather than growing fruit for the first year. You will need to be physically fit, and comfortable working on your feet all day. A lot of the trees are knee to hip height so repetitive bending is required.We are aiming to start WC 14th October. The exact starting day will be arranged with us at the interview. The contract will go through until early November. There may be an opportunity for more work up until late December depending on your work ethic and quality of work. Please note it’s important that you commit to the whole duration of the work period.
