Fleet Service Delivery Manager

Pace Couriers, part of the New Zealand Post group, offer same day urgent courier services across town and nationwide. Our deliveries range from legal documents to blood products, missing airline baggage to car parts. It's an exciting and fast paced business where each day is different from the next. And with 1200-1800 jobs booked per day, it's not for the faint hearted!
Together with the existing Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for the management of about 45 courier contractors; ensuring the fleet is optimised to meet delivery deadlines, service standards and customer expectations. You'll also have responsibility for up to 8 dispatch and administration employees.
Key to your success will be your proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within an operational environment. Commercially, you'll have a good understanding of core revenue and profit drivers and be experienced with financial and budget management.
You'll be organised and detail oriented and can make effective decisions under pressure. The role has a high level of responsibility, so you'll need to possess maturity and the ability to lead and influence others.
Our Auckland branch, based in Highbrook, is a fast paced, time critical, 24/7 operation. You'll need to be prepared to be flexible with your time, working some evenings and being available to be on call during weekends. There will also be a requirement to travel to visit customers at other sites once or twice a fortnight.
