About the role

Leading a well trained and supporting financial reporting team, you will partner with the Financial Controller and CFO and play an important role in driving transformational change of the organisation and finance function, ensuring financial control and integrity, and delivering on financial reporting requirements. You will also be responsible for driving process improvement and operational performance by challenging the status quo and identifying and executing on opportunities for greater efficiency and quality of management information and maintaining a high-performance culture. You will also be part of the project team on an upcoming large ERP implementation, a number of system implementations and also be involved in significant capital projects over the coming 12-24 month period.

Duties
Ensure oversight of all financial activities, including balance sheet reconciliation and month end processes
Ensure adherence to Barwon Health financial policies, processes & procedures
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant government Regulations and Standing Directions
Analyse financial performance against budgets, historical trends and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) key metrics
Effectively lead, train and develop staff to ensure optimal performance of the team
Work closely with the Financial Controller to identify and drive process improvements within Finance Department
Work closely with the Commercial Finance Team to highlight and explain trends and interrogate the monthly financial result
Work alongside Financial Controller as key project leads on a number of upcoming capital expenditure projects and management of the annual capital expenditure plan.
Key project lead on ERP implementation of Oracle and a number of other system upgrades

Skills and Experience
You are a CA/CPA qualified finance professional with a strong track record of managing highly engaged and well trained teams. The successful candidate will have experience within a multifaced and complex organisation or be a high performer looking for their first move into industry from a Big 4 or Mid-Tier professional services organisation. With an ability to engage and communicate strongly with a variety of stakeholders, you will have in depth financial reporting knowledge and have an appetite for developing and executing plans to maximise financial performance and ensure ongoing improvement of processes.
