Following a significant recent acquisition our client has created a new role for an ambitious Financial Controller on the pathway to CFO to lead the accounting function, assist with embedding robust financial processes, and help deliver the organisations strategic objectives in line with their 5-year plan.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the primary purpose of the Financial Controller role is to lead and drive financial reporting and planning processes, provide value-added, timely financial analysis and to lead and supervise a national finance unit. You will be provided with significant autonomy to perform these objectives with the CFO looking for a trusted advisor to partner with them and add some serious depth to the leadership team.
Following some recent positive change the organisation expects to be confronted by a raft of exciting new challenges, and with systems not yet fully aligned there will be significant project work to get these amalgamated and integrated. As a result key resources across both the business and the team will be stretched, meaning you will need to be an effective people manager capable of motivating and lifting capability within the team as required to meet the organisational objectives.
To be suitable for this role you'll already be operating at a Financial Controller level (or similar) and be ambitious to work toward CFO roles in future. You'll have a great personal brand, being charismatic and someone who engenders trust, whilst being capable of being appropriately assertive when required. Your experience will ideally be from other commercial organisations where you have managed large teams, and experience in M & A environments, with complex revenues streams and consistent yet varied deadlines would highly beneficial. You will naturally be CA qualified and have strong technical knowledge of IFRS utilising a Tier One Finance Package.
