Within a team of 130 you will be proactively working closely with the Regional General Manager and five line managers ensuring that their service delivery in the region is delivered successfully and to budget.
The Role
Drawing on your commercially savvy nature, you will provide a sounding board for the team across the South Island, utilising your knowledge and experience to help influence and drive the business forward across the region through proactively assessing project planning and budgets, advising and coaching managers and reviewing and reporting on project financials. You may also be managing one direct report. While a base of Dunedin would be ideal, a Christchurch base may be possible.
Key aspects of this role are:
Provide commercial review to a portfolio of projects
Manage the Commercial & Contractual setup and processes of projects
Financial & Cost reporting
Provide commercial advice on issues associated with current and upcoming projects
Manage claims, variations & final accounts
Requirements
A relevant degree in Finance/Accounting/Quantity Surveying or similar
5+ years’ experience in a similar position in the services or construction industry
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interpret and apply contracts
Detailed knowledge in project management, planning, budgeting, and cost control
Strong negotiating skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
