Field Technician (Horticulture) - Permanent Casual.

Agfirst Consultants Nelson Limited is a horticultural consultancy based in Motueka. We have a client base throughout the Nelson/Tasman region, primarily in pipfruit and kiwifruit.
We are looking for someone to start with us in January, this will be a full-time casual position from Jan-May 2019, with further opportunities throughout the year for the right person.
As this position is seasonal by nature, some downtime over winter and early spring are expected, so it would ideally suit someone who isnt relying on 12 months full-time work but enjoys the seasonal nature and variation of the horticultural industry.
Key attributes required for the position:
Horticultural experience is important, good working knowledge of orchard operations in the Nelson/Tasman region would be a significant advantage. Qualifications in horticulture would also be an advantage.
Work will be both team-based and working alone, we need an independent self-starter who also works well as part of a team.
Relationships are important to us, good communication skills are required with regular client and staff contact.
The work will be largely out in the field, a good level of fitness is necessary.
Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday but flexibility in work hours will be required due to the nature of field work.
Must have full current drivers license.
