WIRTGEN AUSTRALIA seeks a Field Service Technician to join our Service team. This role will be based in Palmerston North, New Zealand and will support our clients in the greater East Coast Region of the North Island, New Zealand.

Remuneration and Benefits:
- Overtime at the rate of time and a half apply;

Key Responsibilities:
- Onsite service, repairs and maintenance of Wirtgen Group machines;
- Diagnose and fault find technical defects and provide solutions, including electrical and electronic interface data diagnosis;
- Inspection of machines and provision of a repair schedule;
- Produce accurate and neat job reports, timesheets and other paperwork in a timely manner;
- Develop and build strong customer relationships with both existing and new customers;
- Self-motivated and able to manage own workload while liaising with the Service Manager;
- Travelling around the lower North Island is essential along with trips to Auckland and Christchurch to assist colleagues when required;
- Overnight stays as well as weekly trips away from home will be required for onsite commissioning etc.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Australian/New Zealand Recognised Trade Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Plant Mechanic;
- A minimum 2 years post apprenticeship in a similar role working with heavy equipment/machinery;
- Current, unencumbered HR drivers licence;
- Current Forklift and WTR licence;
- Demonstrated strength in diagnostics;
- Experience in hydraulics required, electrics and engines preferred;
The ideal candidate will also need to complete and pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing and obtain a police clearance.
