We are looking for a highly technically competent andField Service Engineerto join our experienced and established aftermarket team in New Zealand. Reporting to the Service Manager; the main purpose of your role is to provide exceptional levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring vehicle availability predominantly in Auckland.
About you:
It is a technically challenging role and therefore it is essential that you have a strong track record in themaintenanceandrepair of buses,includingbody,electricalandmechanical.
Ideally this experience will be from the Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) industry; however, we would be equally interested to hear from those within Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) and theRailindustry.
Working on modern, high-tech vehicles, it is essential that yourelectrical diagnosticskills will include the use of ‘Multiplex’ systems. Furthermore, yourmechanical diagnosticandrepairskills will include working onengine,transmissionandcompressed airsystem as a minimum.
Ideally you will be qualified and experienced, with diagnostics and repair ofCummins ISBandISL
Ideally you will have experience of otherdrivelines, such ashybrid, fullElectric Vehicleand other alternative fuels. Full training will however be provided.
We pride ourselves on ourcustomer careand therefore you will be comfortable in a customer facing role. As a result of this, you will have excellentcommunicationskills, both written (Microsoft Office) and verbal.
Full NZ driving licensewith category class 4 for buses is essential.
The role:
First and foremost; it will be your responsibility for maintaining maximum vehicle availability for new and existing customers predominantly in Auckland. You will achieve this through a combination of hands-on maintenance of vehicles, as well as leaning on established support networks for more complex issues.
On arrival at our customer sites, you will work quickly and diligently to diagnose problems, completing all repairs in a health and safety conscious manner. This will be a combination of reactive, as well as preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards. As such, it will be your responsibility to make sure that your van is fully equipped with tools and parts on daily basis.
Upon completion of activities on vehicles; you will accurately complete all necessary paperwork (such as service worksheets, timesheets and warranty claims), ensuring that jobs can be closed and invoiced in a timely manner.
The standard hours of work will be 37 hours per week, with start and finish times variable and determined by the Service Manager. The daily shift will be between 05:00-20:00, dependent upon operational requirements within the region.
To meet the needs of our Customers, you will also be required to work an element of overtime. This may include working outside of the core hours above and will include some weekend working, on a rota basis. For this reason, a degree of flexibility is required and where additional hours are worked, appropriate overtime payments will be made.
