If you're a hands-on technician with strong cabling and low voltage wiring skills and an interest in IT infrastructure, we want to hear from you!Position Overview:This position involves:Cabling, network installation, diagnostics and debugging, and infrastructure setupDocumentation creation, updates, photos, and labelingInstallation of IT and networking hardware, including WiFi access points, switches, servers, and firewallsSecurity camera and low-voltage system deploymentRetrofitting and new construction installationsKey ResponsibilitiesStructured Cabling & Infrastructure:Install, terminate, and test Cat6, fiber optic, coax, and other low-voltage cablingPerform cable routing through walls, ceilings, and outdoor/indoor transitionsSet up and wire network racks, including power, data, and fiber opticsRun and manage conduit, raceways, and cable management solutionsDiagnose and debug cable faults, cable integrity issues, and network performance with tools like Fluke or other cable test equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.Installation of Network & IT Hardware:Mount, configure, and install WiFi access points (WAPs), network switches, firewalls, and serversDeploy and wire PoE devices (security cameras, VoIP phones, and other networked equipment)Be familiar with different PoE standards and methodsAssist with POTS-to-VoIP conversions and related infrastructure updatesConstruction & Retrofitting Support:Mount racks, reposition equipment, and install/retrofit infrastructure in both new and existing buildingsUnderstand structural and electrical considerations when installing IT hardwareField Support & Troubleshooting:Travel to customer locations for installations and service callsWork at heights using ladders or lifts as neededUnderstand and provide basic networking support (IP subnetting, VLANs, DHCP, WiFi controllers, VoIP Hardware)Qualifications & Skills Required:Strong structured cabling experience (Cat6/Cat6A, shielded and plenum cabling, fiber termination / fiber trays / fiber patch panels and cables, and low-voltage wiring)Installation experience with WiFi access points, network hardware, security cameras, and VoIP systemsAbility to wire and install network racks and handle power/data/fiber configurationsComfortable working at heights and using tools for infrastructure retrofittingBasic networking knowledge (CompTIA A+ level; Network+ is a plus)Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to climb ladders and lift 50+ lbs.Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.Bonus Skills:Experience with WiFi networks, controllers, and different topologiesFamiliarity with POTS-to-VoIP conversions and related wiring/configurationConstruction experience for mounting racks, planning installations, identifying alternative solutions, and infrastructure retrofitsPerks Include:Work in a fun, team environmentProfessional development and training opportunitiesGain crucial experience with a variety of real-world projectsLearn from respected industry experts on best practicesUnlimited CoffeeConveniently located near Highway 71Extensive Benefits:Employer-paid health insurance contributionMedical (cafeteria) planPaid Individual Life, Dental, Vision, and Long-Term coveragePaid Vacation timePaid HolidaysPaid Time Off (PTO) sick days and personal daysJury duty and bereavement benefitsAllowance for use of personal cell phone.Performance-based bonuses401K MatchHealth savings and flexing spending optionsVoluntary Short-Term CoverageVoluntary Life Insurance (Additional Coverage Options)Additional coverage options to include spouses and familiesAbout Us:R & D Industries, Inc.
