Details of the offer

The Motueka Family Service Centre is the ‘home’ of a range of services; set up to provide support to parents and families in the Motueka and wider community. Families and individuals are able to access one or multiple services to both meet their needs and provide strengths based change. We also link, refer and partner with other services and supports in the community. The families using the Centre are in need of support, at times intensive support, especially those on a low income who have significant challenges in their lives. The focus of most of the Centre services is parents and families with pre-school children. The Centre provides “wrap around” type services focused on building strengths and skills to make positive changes in people’s lives.

The Family Support Service provides social work support to families based on their strengths and needs, utlising goals and plans developed with the family. This role is approx 30 hours per week over 4 days.

The broad responsibilities that are detailed in the position description include:
Supporting family/whanau wellbeing and development
Developing and using family/whanau plans to guide development.
Parenting presentation coordination and delivery
Recording and reporting of client work
Community liaison and service Promotion
Participate in organisational activities.
