You will be responsible for overseeing and carrying out the maintenance and management of hospital buildings, equipment, and facilities.
The role involves ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
This person will be onsite and take ownership of day-to-day maintenance tasks, plan and manage scheduled maintenance, and become familiar with the equipment and plant.
This position is essential to the smooth running of our facilities, ensuring all aspects of facility upkeep are handled efficiently and in line with operational standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPreventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all hospital buildings to ensure they are well-maintained and safe.Timely Response & Hands-on Repairs: Address property issues promptly and, where appropriate, carry out physical repairs and maintenance, ensuring that all maintenance activities are completed within delegated authority levels.Building Warrant of Fitness: Assist in maintaining the annual Building Warrant of Fitness, including updating maintenance records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Equipment Maintenance: Ensure regular servicing and maintenance of plant equipment, promptly addressing any maintenance issues that arise.Health & Safety: Assist with resolving property-related Health & Safety issues and provide information for CAPEX planning.Long-term Planning: Maintain a long term plan for building maintenance and equipment replacement in conjunction with the Administration & Support Services Manager.Fire Safety: Liaise with Fire Compliance to supervise evacuations and report any issues arising from trial evacuations to the General Manager and Health & Safety Committee.Projects: Assist with property-related projects as necessary.Other Duties: Perform other duties as reasonably assigned to meet business requirements.What We're Looking ForWe're looking for a hands-on and experienced candidate with a strong background in facilities and maintenance.
The ideal person will be prepared to take on a wide range of practical, day-to-day tasks.
This role requires someone who is proactive, self-sufficient, and comfortable taking ownership of all maintenance aspects, including minor repairs and general physical work.
A solid understanding of regulatory requirements and operational standards, along with good knowledge of safety protocols, will be highly regarded.
