We have an opportunity for an experienced System Administrator who has extensive storage domain experience to utilize their knowledge of operating systems fundamentals to help assist us in the QA space. You will be fully supported and developed in your journey, ultimately becoming a technical specialist within our team.
In your role as a Storage Exploratory Test Engineer, you will work alongside our development teams who are defining new disruptive technologies, shaping the storage ideas of the future within a modern agile environment.

About you:
As an Exploratory Test Engineer, you will be trained and supported to become a technical specialist and assigned to track down relentlessly every possible source of failure in our product.
You'll work within the Engineering department as part of an agile development team but in an antagonistic exploratory test mode - finding faults to improve the product and indirectly the development team.
You'll perform product testing by analyzing the product and its failure modes within its system environment, including analyzing the source code/architecture and hardware components in the operational pipeline.
The Role:
Perform product exploratory testing, analyze architecture/designs, source code, perform failure analysis
Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences
Effectively communicate findings and strategy to client stakeholders including technical staff, legal and executive leadership
Develop scripts, tools, or methodologies to enhance existing processes
Minimum Qualifications and experience:
5 - 8 years of relevant experience in the storage domain as a Linux System Administrator with excellent OS & Storage troubleshooting skills
OR
5 - 8 years of relevant experience in exploratory/red mode/tiger team style testing for a block/file storage OR
4+ years of automation experience using any high-level programming like Python, Perl, Ruby, Shell, etc, or system-level programming using C/C++.
Linux operating system expert OR Comprehensive understanding of the Linux internals around the areas of user/kernel space, networking, device drivers, HBAs, JBODs, HDDs, & SSD's.
What would make you ideal?
Possess a deep understanding of systems and software development
Solid understanding of failure mode analysis, failure testing including robustness, functionality, and security
Prior experience analyzing/reverse engineering an application in order to break the product.
Whitebox or functional and system-level QA experience on a block/file storage
Solution tests experience like Lustre, Ceph, Gluster,beeGFS, etc.
Agile, Confluence & GIT experience.
