Experienced Tradesmen Required

There are two types of work available: 1. Repairs and Maintenance (R&M). This work includes the completion of repairs and modifications of existing equipment and occasional involvement in the installation of new equipment. Experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy industrial equipment and the ability to follow detailed work instructions is essential for this varied and challenging role.
2. Planned Maintenance (PM). This work includes the conduct of time based scheduled servicing and inspection activities to inspect for machine condition, predict failures, replace and adjust components, perform calibrations and setups and clean and lubricate machinery. This role requires high level of mechanical aptitude, the ability to follow work instructions and report back findings and a high level of attention to detail.
This is a long term contract involving 12 hour Sundays (6am – 6pm) and the occasional Saturday or weekday as requested by our client.
Additional work during the week is available to the right applicant.
As the successful candidate, you must have the following attributes:
· Strong Health and Safety focus with conscientious approach to following procedures and conducting equipment isolations
· Excellent attendance record, a strong work ethic and a proactive "can do" attitude
· Flexible and adaptable
· Ability to sustain a high level of energy and composure during times of pressure
· Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
· Ability to work in a team but also with minimal supervision
· At least 5 years of hands on practical mechanical engineering expertise in a heavy industrial environment (rigging, slinging, fitting and welding skills are essential).
· Ability to complete work to a high standard within a reasonable timeframe.
It would also be desirable to have the following skills and experience:
· Minimum of a Level 3 Certificate in Engineering (or equivalent).
· Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
· Unit standards for Job Safety Analysis, Elevated Work Platform and Working at Height.

· You must hold a valid NZ Work Visa or NZ Residency/Citizenship.
· Those shortlisted for an interview may be required to carry out a pre-employment medical which would include drug and alcohol testing.
