Experienced Barista For Roastery Cafe

Are you an experienced barista who is looking at getting their foot in the door of the wholesale side of coffee?
Award winning Switch Espresso Coffee Company needs a passionate, knowledgable barista at our in-house espresso bar Industrie..
We have a real emphasis on quality in our cafes & we pride ourselves on maintaining a
particularly high standard.
There is a small team of just 2 staff at Industrie, so the ability to work fast-paced and as a team is a must! We are getting busier each week and are about to expand and upgrade the cafe onsite so its an exciting time to join the team.
It takes real team work to make it flow here, so a multi-skilled, multi-tasking person is necessary.
Duties of the successful applicant will include:
- Making espresso based coffees
- Brewing specialty/soft-brew coffee using single origin coffee
- General cafe work
- Assisting the chef where possible
- Helping out in the roastery with bagging and packing
When we say an experienced barista, what we mean is:
*Previous barista experience making high quality coffee
*Being able to make espresso at a fast pace whilst maintaining a high standard
*Having a high standard of latte art
*Having knowledge about making the perfect coffee
*An big passion for all things coffee
*Having a good understanding of soft brew coffee
Things we always look for in staff:
*The ability to work well in a team environment
*A positive, upbeat attitude
*Passion for hospitality
Previous experience making cabinet food to assist and/or cover the chef would be a bonus.
Industrie Espresso Bar is open Monday-Friday, and closes on all public holidays.
We also shut down for two weeks over Christmas, although as we have 2 other sites open (Black Betty and Bunsen) we don't guarantee the full 2 weeks off.
Opportunities don’t open up very often for shifts like this in hospitality so get in quick!
There may also be the opportunity to pick up extra weekend shifts at one of our two other cafes.
As a coffee company with 3 cafe sites, we like to promote from within where possible so there are plenty of opportunities to move up and around the businesses.
