Responsible for delivering a high performing programme that meets both the editorial ambitions of Seven Sharp and its agreed targets of quality, budget and ratings.Your focus in this role will beOverall accountability for Seven Sharp's performance, winning target demographics and achieving agreed share and ratings targets - linear and digital.Refine and deliver the programme brief in conjunction with the Executive Editor.Lead the management of all editorial output of Seven Sharp.Lead the Seven Sharp team to deliver high quality Seven Sharp shows that meet the brief; shape and influence the editorial direction of the show.Work closely with the digital team to optimise our collaboration across platforms.What we're looking for - Ta matou e kimi neiSuccess In This Role RequiresDemonstrated extensive news journalism experience preferably in television.Demonstrated experience delivering partnership content, managing needs of audience and clients effectively.Strong editorial management, coupled with high editorial integrity.Strong leadership and people management skills; proven track record of successfully leading and developing a high performing team.Solid News judgement and awareness of how that applies to different types of programmes.
Demonstrated awareness of political landscape.Demonstrated ability of identifying and analysing new trends and successfully putting into practice.Ability to be hands-on where required, coupled with the ability to take a big picture view.Possesses extensive knowledge of the industry including legislative requirements, practising codes, and NCA policies and procedures.Knowledge of television operational and production processes, including new technology would be beneficial.Maintains an excellent general knowledge and a keen awareness of local, national and international events and across daily news developments.Demonstrated experience and ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Ability to challenge, negotiate and influence stakeholders whilst maintaining relationships.Ability to operate in a fast-paced transformative environment and maintain sound judgement while under pressure and to tight deadlines.Ability to manage time and resources effectively, to be able to deliver to deadlines and on budget.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken, coupled with the ability to listen effectively to understand other viewpoints and deal with conflict.Demonstrated budget and resource management experience.Ability both to conceptualise and to convert concepts into practical implementation.Tolerance of risk and ambiguity; coupled with the ability to manage all levels of change.Decisiveness in decision making, coupled with the ability to solve problems.
