Environment Hubs Aotearoa (EHA) is a Charitable Incorporated Society whose members are independent local community hubs that provide practical support for people to look after themselves, their neighbours and their environment.
We are a passionate bunch of people working to bring opportunities to our communities and have a positive effect on our environment. If this sounds like something you?d like to be a part of read on!
We are facing an exciting future and are currently working to achieve the following:
Enhance the capability and capacity of both Environment Hubs Aotearoa (EHA) and its member Environment Hubs to support local environmental action.
Increase and assess EHA members? impact and community reach in the community and,
Support carefully planned growth in EHA?s role working with the Ministry of the Environment to facilitate Environment Hub funding and manage reporting.
We are looking for an Executive Officer to lead EHA in the next stage of our journey.
About You
We are looking for a passionate and engaged leader. This is an inspiring and diverse role and will have the responsibility of implementing our strategy in a collaborative way with our members.
Your Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Partnering with our fabulous volunteer Board developing strategy, policies and stakeholder relationships.
Ensuring we have the capacity and capability to meet our member needs and aspirations.
Developing and maintaining our significant external relationships.
Leading our wonderful team and extraordinary volunteers.
Ensuring we do what we say by undertaking monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
Leading the creation of a platform that enables New Zealanders to create a thriving and sustainable Aotearoa.
Your Skills and Experience
Commitment to the environment and environmental values.
Knowledge of Te Ao M?ori/Treaty issues.
Broad understanding of the current interconnected environmental and social issues facing Aotearoa.
Previously worked in a similar environment and a history of successfully executing strategic plans.
Robust relationship management skills and successful project management experience.
An excellent communicator.
At least 5 years? experience working in a senior leadership role (preferable in a not for profit organisation).
Where you?ll work
We?re happy for you to work from home anywhere in NZ. You can base yourself at home or at any one of our 17 environment hubs across the country. You will also need to travel on occasion.
