Founded in 1905 as the Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Government Medical School, NUS is the oldest higher education institution in SingaporeJob description:Job DescriptionAn Executive is required to support education and outreach activities at the St. John's Island National Marine Laboratory (SJINML)The job scope includes assisting in the management and operations of the Marine Park Outreach Education Centre at SJINMLThe primary location of this job is at SJINML on St John's Island.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop, organise and carry out of education and outreach programmes at SJINMLOrganise and lead stakeholder engagement activities (e.g., meetings, visits etc) at SJINMLLiaise with local and international scientists for education, outreach and other stakeholder events/programmesDevelop effective strategies for communicating marine science research conducted at SJINMLSupport the management and operations of the Marine Park Outreach and Education Centre at SJINMLAdministrative and safety management duties as pertaining to education and outreach activities and facilities at SJINMLAny other duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications1. Bachelor's Degree in Life science, Environment Science or related disciplines preferred. Candidates with Degrees in with relevant knowledge of marine science and/or science communication will also be considered.2. Good communication skills and a positive attitude is required.3.Candidate should be self-motivated and able to work in a team.4. Due to nature of education and outreach activities and operations, candidate must be prepared to work on weekends (rostered).5. Job location is St John's Island and travel to work includes ferry ride. Candidate must be able to swim. He/she should be prepared to work in offshore location.6. Some IT knowledge and interest in website development will be an advantage.
