The Excavator Operator is responsible for working safely and efficiently, including but not limited to: ALL OPERATORS MUST BE SIGNED OFF FOR EACH ACTIVITY BEFORE CARRYING OUT THE TASK, AND THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES ARE AS BELOW: Receiving and moving materials ensuring handling is kept to a minimum Sort material using grading techniques Specialist baler operation Specialist scrap handler operation Specialist alligator shear operation Collecting/delivering scrap material when required Ensure quality standards are met Carry out stock control checks if required Ensure all processing tasks are safely completed to the required standards Pack materials into appropriate containers Carrying out other processing tasks as directed and to the required standards Carry out stock takes as required Routine daily checks of all plant and equipment related to your task Use tools and equipment as directed and as per company procedures Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and are appropriately maintained. Inform your manager or maintenance team if issues are identified Carry out housekeeping tasks as directed and to a high standard Ensure all health and safety requirements are met Carry out any other tasks as directed by management and to the required standards Hours of work: A minimum of 30 hours of work are guaranteed. Skills and experience required: Must have Forklift license Must have WTR license Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 20kg) Some experience working in a workshop, construction site, or recycling factory OR qualification is preferred but not compulsory Knowledge of yard safety rules and methods is preferred but not compulsory Class 4 license will be an advantage but not compulsory Time management skills Reliable and hardworking This role will be a permanent and full-time job If this sounds like you, please send your resume and brief cover letter outlining your experience.
