Excavator Operator

The Downer NZ Water business is booming and is currently growing our capability in larger water and drainage construction works across the Southland region. We are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team.

About the job
As an Excavator Operator, you will be involved in all aspects of construction including drainage, water, utility and construction projects. This position would suit a team player with civil construction works experience and working as part of a crew.
About you
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
• Class 2 drivers licence with W, T, R endorsements (Class 4, 5 an advantage)
• Experience on various sized excavators (1.5T - 20T) within the civil construction industry – particularly in drainage and water projects
• Work well in a team
• Take pride in their work
• Look after machinery, including preventative maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills including a willingness to participate in business improvement and training
• A focus on Health and Safety
• Be physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
