The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions to investigate the abuse and neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults who were in the care of state and faith-based institutions in New Zealand between 1950 and 1999 and examine ways to stop further abuse.

About the role
The Evidence Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Commission's e-discovery system (relativity) meets the needs of the Commission from both operational ICT and functional evidence management perspectives.
Working collaboratively with our Legal and Investigations team, you will define and determine functionality and then deliver. To do this successfully, you will work closely with the CIO to ensure these critical operational requirements are met. You will also oversee the use of the system by the Legal and Investigations team, including the information and evidence management, review and analysis.
This is a fast-paced environment and you'll have challenges along the way. Your proven ability to navigate through potential risks and adapt with change will ensure you have what it takes to succeed.
We're looking for the following:
Stellar communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Inimitable relationship management experience
Exposure working in a project-based environment
At least three years' experience in a Product Management role, including vendor management experience
Familiarity working alongside legal professionals
Experience in supporting evidence, hearings management and e-discovery systems in the New Zealand environment preferred
Experience designing and delivering training and developing training resources an advantage
You must be a New Zealand citizen or have the right to work in New Zealand for this period
It is critical for the Royal Commission to collaborate with members of the Treaty Engagement team to bring kaupapa, tikanga and te reo Maori approaches to development of the Royal Commission work programme and ensure that the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are applied.
