As the Event Director, you will take charge of the Events division, orchestrating multiple exhibition events around the country. Make no mistake - this is busy and fun!Leading an experienced team of seven, this role is instrumental in bringing all aspects of a successful events business together with a hands-on, collaborative approach. People, exhibitors and attendees are super important to the organisation, so you'll be an expert at forging and retaining strong, values based relationships, prioritising excellence, enthusiasm and engagement, coupled with your strong commercial lens and of course, a passion for events!Key responsibilities include:Team leadership: Lead and inspire a team of talented individuals to achieve excellenceCommercial focus: Drive revenue growth and financial success through an effective sales approach, innovative thinking and wise budget setting/managementLogistics and operations: Oversee event logistics, including venue hire and appointment of suppliers, site planning, risk assessments and health and safety protocols, staffing, ticketing and banking requirementsNegotiation and contracting: Negotiate best rates venue hire and supplier arrangementsStakeholder and reputation management: Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships that position the organisation as a market leaderMarketing and communications: Assist in delivering effective marketing strategies and direct communications to target audiencesSkills and experience needed: Senior level event management experience, with proven ability to manage a high performing sales and delivery focused team.You thrive in an energetic working environment and can easily manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time while being an effective and collaborative team leader.You're a results orientated person with high customer service expectations.You bring a positive, proactive attitude and are a self-starter who enjoys taking the lead and working autonomously.Reporting to a senior leader based in Auckland, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience running a 'business within a business'.
