Hawera Based Strategic, Forward-Thinking Company Fantastic Career Opportunity Egmont Air operate in the 'spraybooth, dust & fume extraction' industry which is a specialist category of mechanical plant and machinery. Much like a centralised vacuum system, it involves ducting routing through a factory with a central extraction fan and filter unit. It also includes spray-booth enclosures and powder-coating ovens, and all of which involve a technical and mechanical understanding. Their customers are NZ manufacturers which produce a massive range of products and work with various materials, for example: the woodworking industry includes kitchen-makers, joiners and timber processors who work with MDF, and solid timber products. Fibreglass manufacturers who produce products such as boats, tanks, coach-bodies, etc and create a lot of fibreglass dust and flammable fumes in the workplace while the engineer-based industry works with steel and manufacturer farm-machinery, doors, trailers, trucks, buildings, etc and produce welding fumes, plasma fumes and grinding dust. They are highly specialised, very successful and with their growth this is a newly created Estimator position and is predominantly an in-house estimating role and will a key link between the sales staff and their drafter in assisting to put quotations together for their client enquiries, with the purpose of providing a design-and-build solution. You will predominantly be working closely with and supporting On-Site Consultants, by engaging and preparing proposals (Quotations) for them to present to prospective customers. You will also be maintaining a database of existing customers and looking after their on-going equipment/ parts needs and servicing as well as following up with sales opportunities with existing customers. You will need to have a head for figures and accuracy in your work will be paramount, you will also be creative and enjoy innovation as no system is generally the same as another, so it requires you to be constantly looking at best ideas to fit the mould for solution selling. Other key attributes will include: Having high energy levels and you must be self-motivated, self-planning, and have self-directed learning skills. Have some type of understanding of HVAC airflow movement and formulas (air dynamics) or having the drive to pick these skills up. Experience in the preparation of quotation documents and proposals. Technical estimating experience. Been able to specify products, and understand capacity and limitations of machinery. Having the ability to learn and understand various production lines and what's important to our customers in an manufacturing environment. Proficient at using computer programs, Microsoft suite, whilst experience with Smartsheet, Zoom, etc would be an advantage. Great experience at record keeping and filing information as well as carrying out relevant reporting. Confident with consultation and presenting a proposal to customers. You would also need to be versatile in your work and you will definitely be a full team player! You will be creative and able to think 'outside the box', be keen to explore new ways of doing things and have a genuine appetite for change and growth.
