We have an opportunity for a Product Designer – Equipment to join our Product Team. This role will be based at the Macpac Support Office, Macpac Basecamp, in Hillsborough, Christchurch. About this Opportunity Our products are sold throughout Australia and New Zealand through our own retail stores as well as enjoying strong distribution throughout Europe and Asia. At Macpac we pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence in design and high production values, and in providing a positive and supportive working environment for our staff. The purpose of this role is to design, plan and execute Macpac Brand equipment lines – creating ranges of sustainable, fit-for-purpose and desirable product that our customers love. You will particularly focus on backpacks, sleeping bags, tents and other outdoor products. To be successful in this role We're looking for someone with a positive attitude who is detail-orientated, well organised and self-motivated. End to end experience with design and product development will bode well. Other essential skills are as follows: Relevant Tertiary qualification – preferably in Product/Industrial Design, Fashion Design or Garment Technology - or significant industry experience. 5 years' demonstrated design experience Computer literate, especially with Adobe Creative Suite, 3D CAD modelling, CLO 3D knowledge advantageous Confident and eloquent in articulation of design ideas and ethos Collaborative working style, happy to pick up multiple tasks to ensure results are met Active interest in outdoor pursuits an advantage What is in it for you?
