Enrolled Nurses Ward 10a Special Needs Unit - Intellectual Disability Service Wakari Hospital, Dunedin Salary Band - $67,898 to $80,921 p.a pro-rata + kiwi-saver + free parking Permanent, full and part-time positions available Competitive salary + discounted health insurance + subsidised gym membership New Graduate opportunities and training support available About the Team The Intellectual Disability Service (IDS) is part of the Specialist Mental Health Services based at Wakari Hospital. The IDS comprises of three parts, Ward 10a a 12 bed inpatient service, Helensburgh Cottage a 4 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit and the Community Liaison Team. You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team comprising of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Mental Health Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists. Ward 10a is a medium secure 12 bed inpatient service for Intellectually Disabled clients, aged 17 to 65 years, who require assessment and treatment under the Mental Health Act or are subject to the criminal justice system via the Intellectual Disability Compulsory Care and Rehabilitation Act 2003. Mo te turanga About the role We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Enrolled Nurses preferably with Mental Health or Intellectual Disability nursing experience to join our supportive multidisciplinary team, however we are also offering New Graduate opportunities that are supported by the Enrolled Nurse Transition into Practice programme. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills, working alongside patients in a complex environment to meet their identified needs in a multi-disciplinary setting. The emphasis is on the delivery of safe client focused care in a changing dynamic setting, working closely with the Associate Charge Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Registered Nurses within our service. Mou ake About you As an experienced Enrolled Nurse, you will have a range of skills and the ability to work effectively to a high standard within your scope of practice. To be successful in this role you must have strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a passion for supporting people with an intellectual disability from admission to discharge. You must also be registered as an Enrolled Nurse with NCNZ (Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice, NCNZ, 2010) and have a current Practicing Certificate.
