Auckland City, 1010The Desktop Support Engineer role is responsible for providing technical support to the internal users of our end user computing devices and software located in New Zealand. This role will also help support the server and network infrastructure located in the New Zealand Data centre.A passion for excellent Customer service, professional dedication and being driven to do things right the first time are essential to be successful in the role.Day to day requirements of this role will include:Installation and maintenance of workstations, printers, mobile phones, desk phone handsets, computer peripherals, video conferencing hardware, etc including hardware and software upgrades.Work with vendors for hardware delivery and support.Software upgrades performed in line with user and project requirements, subject to licensing agreementsKnowledge of the desktop build process and software delivery mechanisms using SCCM 2012.Software licensing requirements complied with at all times.Creation and maintenance of user profiles. User profiles created in accordance with security policy and within customers required timeframes.Provide second level support to internal and external customers to analyse and solve their computer problems as rapidly and effectively as possible.All incidents logged in the ticketing system.All calls closed to customer’s satisfaction as quickly and effectively as possible, with regular updates provided during resolution of long calls.Deliver a high standard of customer service through polite and timely communication to all parties involved in the resolution of a problem.Required skills are:Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsMinimum 2 years supporting desktop and mobile computing environments for 300+ seat sites.Minimum 2 year of proven experience with SCCM is required.Knowledge of ConfigMgr 2012 technologies is advantageousSuccessful candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge of deploying OS images and applications using SCCM and troubleshooting deployment issues on the end-point devicesDemonstrated operating knowledge of the followingWindows 7, 10Microsoft Active DirectoryLaptop, desktop, mobile devicesPrinting technologiesGeneral knowledge of desktop applications, e.g. Microsoft Office.Windows 2008/2012File server administration including NTFS permissionsA solid understanding of LAN/WAN topologiesGeneral communications patching, knowledge of cabling technologiesAbility to work autonomously, and with a remote teamDesired skills:Experience with VMware ESX (2 year min)Primary Location:NZL-AucklandFunction:Function - Tech Engineering and Service OpsSchedule:Full time
